North Coyote Buttes is the closest you will get to beach waves in the middle-of-nowhere Arizona, but instead of flip flops, you’ll need to lace up your hiking boots to ride this wave! Hiking enthusiasts sometimes wait more than a year to knock this spot off their bucket list. Thin, swirling rock will hypnotize you as if the landscape is in motion. The difficulty of the hike on The Wave Tours is moderate, but depends on weather conditions. The hike is at least 6 miles round trip through rock, sand, and steep hills with no shade. It’s perfect for those who want to see this incredible geological phenomenon.
The Wave Tours – North Coyote Buttes departs from Kanab, UT or Page, AZ at approximately 8:00am and returns at approximately 3:00pm.
**Permits are extremely difficult to come by and in the unfortunate event that you are not chosen, we recommend our South Coyote Buttes Tours or Buckskin Gulch Tours which will treat you to landscapes just as gorgeous as North Coyote Buttes. Click here for more information about BLM permits**
