Though the drive to this location is longer and there is more hiking required to see the beautiful rock formations, there is more to see at Cottonwood Cove. This area has very prominent orange and yellow rock with many breathtaking geological formations. Thin fins, arches, teepees, and other multi-colored rocks in backcountry wilderness. The difficulty of the hike is moderate, but depends on weather conditions. The hike is about 3-4 hours long through rock, sand, and steep hills. It’s perfect for those who want to see Mother Nature at her pure, most unadulterated form.
